Divine Dining Room

We've enjoyed working with Lisa and Darrell as they've built a new-construction townhome in Memorial. If you missed our recent posts about their living room, you can find them here and here. Today, we're revealing their beautiful dining room.

Wow, right? The antique iron chandelier and matching sconces add a lovely light to this space. And the natural light from the doors leading to the courtyard is wonderful, too. (This home was built by Schwab Design Builders).

The mirror is custom made with faux paint and aged glass for an antiqued look. The large urn and pedestal with boxwood ball came from our studio. The custom buffet was hand stenciled and faux finished specifically for this room. We did a separate post with before and afters of the buffet here. The buffet adds such style to the room, and from a practical standpoint, it adds great storage.

These chairs! We just love these chairs. Cathy found them during Texas Antiques Week in Round Top - specifically, at The Arbors. (For more tips on where to shop in Round Top, check out our post here.)  The burlap backs and linen fronts of the chairs were the perfect compliment to the style of the rest of the room.

Custom Dining Table

This dining room table was built specifically for our clients Lisa and Darrell, after the chairs had been selected. It's long yet narrow, and is perfect for meals with this family that has four kids. Cathy loves creating unique spaces for our clients, and this custom built table is certainly one-of-a-kind, yet surprisingly really doesn't break the budget.

Cathy selected these floors with the client: an Italian porcelain in a parquet pattern. By selecting a different floor for the dining room from the entry and living areas, the dining room is able to have a separate, sophisticated style yet coordinate with the rest of the home .

Sophisticated Shutters

On the wall just outside the dining room, Cathy hung these antique shutters for added architectural interest, as well as to define the living and dining rooms as different spaces. She found these at Memorial Antiques and Interiors (MAI), where we frequently source great finds for clients' homes. What do you think?

Working with Lisa and Darrell has been quite fun, and we just love their home! We'll be sharing their kitchen next, so come back soon.

Thanks for touring with us!
