Dallas Market - January 2015 - New Items, New Friends!
The Renovate team (Cathy, Brigitte, and Courtney) went to Dallas market earlier this month seeking inspiration and new inventory ideas and we came back with plenty!
One of the best parts about market is meeting people face to face - in a busy world full of emails and voicemail, it's nice to meet the designers behind lines we love and sometimes even the creators/artists of the actual products.
We want to tell you all about it, so keep reading!
We met this new friend who lives in Jackson, Mississippi. We LOVE Jackson and going to visit our friend who plays baseball at Millsaps, so we instantly clicked with Amber and talked in our best southern accent while shopping wit her. We love local, y'all!
Babies on the Brain!
Once we hit the Market Center in Dallas, new grandmother Cathy's first stop was to stock up on super-soft swaddle blankets. These blankets, we learned, were designed by a nurse to be the most comforting to a baby, without making them hot. Our order should arrive any day now, with tons of patterns, colors, and designs. We've got baby fever!
We couldn't resist these popular Dash & Albert bags, pictured below. Perfect for a summer everyday purse. Or, they make a great gift for a high school grad headed to college - who wouldn't want to head to the library if your books are in such a cute bag!?
Fresh florals! These simple ceramic containers were calling our name. Cathy loved that they look great empty, or with just a few fresh flowers, viola, great centerpiece or style up your coffee table.
We couldn't keep our eyes off these shuttered planters! We have several sets of the large and smaller size in stock now. Looking to spruce up your front entrance? Look no more.
We loved getting to see John Robshaw's latest collection of pillows and bedding. He's well known in the textile "biz" for promoting fair trade and wages. And isn't that headboard the coolest? We'll take two!
One of our favorite lines opened a new showroom this January, and we spent lots of time checking out the new looks and different vignettes.(Okay, okay, we had a cookie while we were there, too.)
We swooned over these dried hydrangea stems and ordered them immediately. We quickly sold out last week but never fear, there are more on the way! We're ready for springtime.
Speaking of springtime, we loved their table settings with eggs and nests. Of course we ordered some of those, too!
This jewelry line, made in Texas, is named after it's designer, Wimberly (and she told us she's named for her grandmother, not the town of Wimberly.) We can't wait for these druzzi bracelets and necklaces to come in! And, don't you love these clutches? The ones on the right can be ordered in any color, any monogram - want to order birthday or bridesmaid gifts? Just let us know in advance!
We're really excited about these fresh doormats to arrive. Keep the dirt out of your house and the style on your front or back porch in just a snap! And right, we've got some orchids headed to the studio that aren't real but sure do look it. (Shhh, don't tell. Your guests will never know and you'll never need to water.) We love a good, vibrant orchid, but we'll take the pretend, too!
Below, we visited a showroom of a local Dallas artist who creates "green" creations - bottom left is called "Jenga Earth." Um, COOL!
Dallas Market is a shop-til-you-drop affair; the days are fun but loooong. And since Courtney's background isn't retail, after a 10 hour day in the Market Center, you just might find her delirious and taking selfies with stuffed lions. Exhibit A...
thanks for joining us
Stop by the studio soon to see all of our new lines and items! And just come say hi, too!
