Rice Military Marvelous {kitchen tour}

Today, we're taking you on a virtual tour of a beautiful townhouse in the Rice Military area of Houston. (Near Washington avenue and Memorial Park if you're unfamiliar.)

This was beautiful when our client moved in just a few months back. But, with the help of our designer Cathy, and our professional faux painter Brigitte, the home jumped from "wonderful" to "wow!!" Here's a before shot of the kitchen:

This wall of cabinets, above, was transformed using paint and fabric behind the glass. The fabric coordinates with the dining room chairs and allows for smooth transition from room to room. Great storage in this spacious kitchen! We placed baskets above for added depth and decor.

Brigitte Howell painted the vent-hood a custom hammered copper finish. It is even more striking in person!

Above, you can see the finished vent-hood. As usual, Brigitte really outdid herself. (Do you notice the sneak peek of the dining room? Post coming soon...)

Breakfast Room Beauty

Below is a before shot of the breakfast room and kitchen. We placed a unique light fixture, as well as larger furniture, to really make the space stand out. Scroll below for the after.

Cathy added oversized baskets, with antique iron fragments, to the wall. We love the depth and uniqueness it lends to the room!

Above, up close and personal with the breakfast room. That light fixture, wow! The fresh flowers are lovely, and the turquoise vases carry the signature color of teal throughout the home. How is teal used in the living room? You'll have to check back to see!

This darling golden retriever couldn't believe we didn't want more pictures of her, so she placed herself right in this shot. We get it, Phoebe, you're very cute!

Phoebe says, thanks for checking out her kitchen.
