old friends, new friends, we had a blast at market!
We just returned from our first trip to Dallas Market! If you're like us, you might not know much about market. Well, there are four major market locations across the country, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Las Vegas (and there's also one in High Point, North Carolina, too) and they have various "shows" throughout the year. We went for the Total Home & Gift Market that draws a huge crowd each June.
Annually, the Dallas Market Center estimates they do about $8 billion worth of wholesale transactions throughout the year (apparel, gifts, home decor, etc.) Um, wow! That's a LOT of business.
We had a blast meeting new faces and seeing old friends in the enormous market complex. While searching for a place to grab a quick lunch, we ran into our friends from The Golden Thread.
You're probably familiar with their incredible line of jewelry. And, did you know one of their employees, Sarah Holdsworth, worked for Cathy's husband Tom when she was in high school? Yep, Sarah was an after-school staffer here at 7413 Westview. We just love her! (she's pictured far right.)
Our friend Whitney Russell of Azulina Ceramics was hanging out in the World Trade Center, too! We loved getting a sneak peek of their beautiful Christmas line. Azulina Ceramics are available at renovate, and you can order anything we don't have on hand, and viola, it should arrive in less than one week.
Lawrence & Crane
We met up with Austin Allen James, the artist behind the line Lawrence & Crane. We carry everything from his mini-hearts ($24) to large, fine art he creates. We first learned of Lawrence & Crane when our friend Diana Chenoweth gave us a mini-heart for Valentine's Day. His work is one of the most popular lines in our studio, and we're so glad to work with him and his team. Though we frequent his studio in Houston, we loved getting to see some of his different sizes and styles displayed in the Dallas showroom.
