Tres Lunas Resort {getaway}

The renovate team recently had the pleasure of visiting Tres Lunas Resort, outside Fredericksburg, Texas. After several turns down a gravel dirt road, you pull into this oasis, with stunning views of the hill country. Tres Lunas provides all the cliches we city folks long for - clean, fresh air; true quiet; peaceful solitude; unobstructed views of the sunrise and sunset; a slower pace; and abundant wildlife (we counted more than 20 white tail from the turn off the paved road until we reached the resort.)

Brigitte Howell, a professional faux painter who has worked with our founder/interior designer, Cathy for decades, was the reason for renovate's quick hiatus last weekend. Brigitte's daughter, Haley, is getting married at Tres Lunas in October. (Did we mention the bride, a recent University of Texas School of Architecture graduate, created her own save-the-dates using a laser cutter to represent the topography of Tres Lunas? Yep. Uber talented, that one.)

the lovebirds!

the lovebirds!

We met for dinner at the Hill Top Cafe, a legendary spot about eight miles outside of Fredericksburg. Deeeeelicious! The couple that owns the restaurant started in the 80s with a double-burner hot plate in a old gas station, and the menu has evolved to include all kinds of seasonal specials, including fresh seafood dishes. The eclectic decor and ambiance makes it one of a kind. If you're ever in the area, tell 'em we sent ya!

Haley and Robert will get married at the beautiful chapel on Tres Lunas grounds. The pool overlooking the vista views is a show-stopper, and we know the bride will be too! Style Me Pretty featured Tres Lunas as a wedding destination - you can see more here

We had a great time with everyone, (including the maid of honor, and the bride's aunt, a self-proclaimed avid renovate blog reader. this is a test, traci...) and can't wait to get back! Tres Lunas cooks blow-your-mind breakfasts, and we've heard their dinners are scrumptious, too. Craig and Carol, the owners who run the small resort, are excellent cooks - and they also provide yoga retreats. Read more on their website.

We highly recommend Tres Lunas for a getaway weekend or couple's escape.

Can you believe this is even real?
