inside the renovation {intro}

We're ready to reveal some of the interior of our renovation house!

Though the initial structure remains, the interior and exterior have been completely renovated. What once was a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with small closets and a choppy kitchen has been reconfigured and updated throughout. It is now a 3 bedroom house with an enlarged master suite, a newly structured kitchen to add more space and flow, and ceilings raised to 10 feet in the main areas.

Our designer Cathy has staged the home using many local resources, such as: High Fashion Home, MAI, Village Antiques, Kuhl Linscomb, Adkins Antiques, Laurie's Home Furnishings, and Ikea.

Let's take a look at the family room...

In the photo below, you can see the raised plank ceilings. Cathy has staged the room with items for various sources, including an imported large area rug from Bayat Oriental rugs. The walls were updated with antiqued plaster, and the floors are an Italian porcelain.

The pair of Demi Lune tables are from Tamra Moore at Memorial Antiques and Interiors (MAI II). These fabulous antique urn lamps with painted shades are from The Brass Monkey (MAI and Village Antiques.)

Cozy up by the fireplace! Original gas log fireplace from when the home was built in 1956.

We love the artwork in this room, and the pop of yellow carried throughout the home as our designer staged it. Custom gray and yellow pillows. Our studio, opening in March 2014, will carry all of these accessories.

Standing in the entry, this is the view of the family room. We are loving the rug and the updated floors, as well as the raised 10 foot ceilings.

Come back soon as the tour continues!

This home will be on the market Friday, February 7.
